Hate It or Love It? Bravo's The Fashion Show

So, I can't decide if I love or hate The Fashion Show, Bravo's new fashion design competition. Issac Mizrahi and Kelly Rowland host this knockoff Project Runway. The designers are lackluster to say the least and the designs are uninspired and unoriginal just like the concept of the show in its entirety. Half of the designers can't sew. What is that about?!?!? Issac ok he has fashion criidentials but Kelly Rowland, her fashion expertise came from??? On the upside it's always nice to have fashion glory or the pursit thereof on television. So I'm still on the fence, but tune in Thursday's at 10pm on Bravo and you be the judge.

Steal Her Style: New Year's Eve 2009 Edition

New Year's Eve 2008 was full of fabulous fashion.  From MIA to St. Bart's celeb's were head to toe hot, and some styles are definitely worth stealing.  Our fashion frontrunners would have to be Meagan Good and the Knowles Sisters, Beyonce and Solonge.  B, in St. Bart's with hubby Jay along with the Cannon's, the Reids, and none other than Marc Jacobs himself, rocked a hot Marc Jacobs 2008 Resort Collection black pearl embroidered jersey long sleeve draped tulip dress with a cummerbund belt.  In MIA at Karu & Y Miss Good sported fly American Apparel disco pants and their sheer jersey racerback tank along with some HOT Report studded heels, and party hostess, Solo, wore a Jay Godfrey strapless number with tulle waist accents and FLYYY Chanel Resort 2008 Collection lankle (leg/ankle) two-tone calfskin and patent leather woven booties with a Whirlwind heel.  Hotness! and just for you I've listed where to find all these looks just so you can steal this style! Discount Designer

If you are anything like me, designer clothes and handbags are not wants but NEEDS!  But I also realize that my budget can't always handle the latest high-priced item, and for this reason I love a sale.  I recently found two websites that offer their versions of sample sales but online. These are private sales that last for short periods of time or as long as the merchandise does. The prices start at 50% off of retail value and there are legitimate designer items available. The first site is www.glit.com and the second is www.hautelook.com.  Both sites are free to register for and offer $25 for each friend referral. Checkout what I found currently on sale at each site-a Marc by Marc Jacobs Dress and a Trace of Kale patent leather bag-steals for any fashionista.  Indulge quickly because the sales are only for 12-48 hours or how ever long the goods last.  Plus they are guaranteed authentic.  What could be better? What Will Michelle Obama Wear: Inauguration '09

It seems that every fashion designer on the face of the Earth has submitted a design for Michelle Obama to wear to the Inaugural Ball, and rightfully so.  Our next First Lady has been stylistically compared to the likes of the legendary Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis which is a huge honor and creates high expectations for Mrs. Obama.  The fashion world is on pins and needles as we anxiously await the huge decision.  The First Lady To Be's choice will make a statement, and it will likely guide the course of American Fashion over they next few seasons.  If she sticks with her usual M.O. the dress will be elegant but not overly extravagant. With designers from Karl Lagerfeld to Betsey Johnson submitting designs, so tough decisions must be made but I'm sure Mrs. Obama won't disapoint.  Some of my favorites include a boatneck, cap sleeve Marc Jacobs, the asymetrical, belted waist Michael Kors and Monique Lhuillier gowns, and the more elegant play on the traditional DVF rap dress.  Fashion First...Muah!

Fashion TV in 2009

2009 is shaping up to be one of the best years for fashion on television.  I am particularly a fan of reality t.v. and two shows that will definatly bring the style and fresh looks for the new year: MTV's Daddy's Girls and The City.  Daddy's Girls is a spinoff of the popular Run's House starring Rev. Run Simmons and his family.  Daddy's Girls will star Vanessa and Angela Simmons and highlight there life in LA.  The City is a spinoff of The Hills.  Former Hills cast member Whitney is moving to the Big Apple to accept a position with Diane von Furstenberg.  Check the trailers...

Make sure you tune in on Monday, December 29th for The City @10p and Monday, January 5th @ 10:30p both on MTV.  Fashion First...Muah!
